The desert begins approximately 2 to 3 hours from Muscat by road. Access points are typically reached through towns such as Bidiyah and Al Wasil, where paved roads transition into desert tracks

How To Reach
Wahiba Sands are reached by road from Muscat, usually via the towns of Bidiyah or Al Wasil. The drive takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the camp location.
4x4 vehicles are required for driving into the dunes and accessing desert camps. Many accommodations provide transfer services from the edge of the desert.
Driving in the desert is not recommended for those without experience.
