Taqah Castle is one of Dhofar’s most well-preserved traditional forts, located in the coastal town of Taqah along Oman’s southern shoreline. Originally built as the residence of a local governor, the castle played an important role in overseeing trade, managing local affairs, and protecting the surrounding coastal settlement.
